Community Works

We are part of Sutton Community Works, an interchurch initiative that developed out of Soul in the City in 2004. Pooling our resources we are able to facilitate joint projects and events to impact our community.

Sutton Foodbank

The Foodbank is run by trained volunteers drawn from across the spectrum but mainly from Christian churches in the borough. Sutton Foodbank gives free emergency food to people in crisis and provides help and support until the appropriate agencies can step in. Our aim is to restore dignity and revive hope. In 2012–13 the Foodbank fed 1,192 Adults and Children – an increase of 50% over the previous year.

Sutton Street Pastors

Street Pastors are drawn from over 20 different churches. They work with Safer Sutton Partnership and with pubs, clubs and shops in the town centre. They are also working in two Sutton schools.

Prayer for Sutton

Prayer for Sutton is an initiative aiming to support and encourage Christians praying for God’s kingdom to increase in the London Borough of Sutton.

We are encouraging Christians to make a commitment to pray for the borough for the next 12 months. Over this period of time we are providing support and online resources as well as facilitating an event in the summer of 2014.
