River Church Sutton

Sundays

Our Sunday gatherings are relaxed and informal. Everybody is welcome and we work hard to ensure that our services are a safe space for all. We start at 10.30am and are usually finished by 12pm. If you’d like someone to meet you on your first visit, please get in touch with us.
What to expect

What to Expect

We gather together to encounter the life-changing presence of God, to be equipped through biblical teaching and be encouraged through fellowship and friendships.

Worship
We express our worship to God through contemporary songs accompanied by a band and give opportunity for people to contribute.

Teaching
We then hear teaching from the Bible, which we hope will be both relevant and applicable to everyone. Feel free to listen to some of our talks.

Prayer
We welcome the work of the Holy Spirit in all our gatherings and we always give an opportunity for prayer ministry.

Refreshments
Fairtrade tea and coffee is served both before and after the meeting to give an opportunity to get to know people.

Children's ministry

Children

We love kids at River Church and run a whole program of activities for those from reception to Year 6, helping them to get as much out of Sundays as you do! This all takes place during the morning service.

Through storytelling, worship, prayer, games, fun and craft, we teach a full range of Bible stories and how they apply to our lives today – helping our children catch a hold of the wonder and awesomeness of God.

Safeguarding
Our children's groups are overseen by a great team, some of whom are teachers and classroom assistants by profession. The team is committed to creating a safe environment where kids can grow through relevant and exciting activities. Everyone holds a DBS certificate.

Youth ministry

Youth

River Church Youth is for young people from Year 7 and over. Our aim is to encourage and support young people to explore and develop a personal relationship with God, to look deeper into their faith and to examine what it means to be a Christian.

Our youth group meets weekly at Highfield Hall from 11am-12pm during the Sunday morning service. We spend time playing games and talking about our weeks, before learning about God through Bible study and praying for each other. We tackle real-life issues grounded in Bible-based teaching. There is laughter, banter, discussion and real honesty as we share both the highs and the lows of life together.

Location

Highfield Hall, 320 Carshalton Road, SM5 3QB.
